Hye,

First thanks for the project !

The CVS builds are interesting IMHO. We had 3 shots during the first 3 weeks, and since them, almost 2 months, nothing.

Is there any reason, is the project still going on quickly ?

Another thing. It would be great having it really functionnal with Lazarus, to be fully multi-OS and Open Source ;-)

I also think this library has untapped potential and would like to see it progress (at least to the point that I can get it installed!)

anyway, nov/dec are generally slow months due to traditional holidays -- I expect that's the main reason.

I am a little disappointed to see the project apparently stopped.
It seems the team doesn't even post ?

Can we have some information ? Is it time to change to a "closed source" project ?
At least if I know that I have to forget the project, then I know I have to change my application to other ?

What are the good alternatives : PostgresDAC / pgExpress ?

Please give us some information . planning or futur of the project ...

danied,

On sourceforge I can see that the activity percentily for Zeos last week is 96.38 percent, which is fairly high. :)

It is calculated by adding the 3 parts:
- traffic (downloads, pages, logos)
- development (cvs, file releases, admin login)
- communication (tracker, posts)

Download average last week was around 600 / day,
web pages 1500 / day.

Tracker and posts was zero.

See details here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/stats/?g ... gn=zeoslib

Unfortunately I can't see the recent development activity. Or at least I don't know where to look.
CVS sum is: CVS Repository : (2,475 commits, 918 adds)

But the SF statistics may be misleading for development and communication, because Zeos has it's own forum, this one. Only downloads are handled via SF.

Bottom line: Zeos is an active project, but the development activity is unclear. So let's wait for an answer from one of the developers.

No answer would be revealing as well :(

Thanks for this interesting information.

I think your analysis is perfectly accurate : Zeos is an active project, but the development activity is unclear.

The bad news are that until now, still waiting for any information / feedback from the developpers... ;-(
