Why Do You Continue To Ignore MAC OS X Problems with ZEOSLIB

Looking at some of the half-hearted attempts to get zeos lib working for the MAC users, I can only assume that your developers only care about Linux and the PC world. Are you getting paid off by Borland or someone to ignore the MAC problems experienced with Lazarus? I just can't believe people continue to post problems with the library on MAC and they are all ignored. Well, because of your non-support for MAC issues, I have moved on. You and your PC and Linux buddies can just keep ZEOS, I'm done with it.

This is a freeware component suite, maintained and developed by people in their free hours. They ask nothing for it. You are free to use it or choose any other component suite of your election.

If you think or know the components have problems on Mac OS X you could try to debug the failure and contribute to the library (which you got for free), instead of acting like you would be the most important developer in the world and all should run to help you.

I am not part of Zeos development team, and I also have encountered some bugs, but I am very grateful for what they have done until now.

Darkbow,
Thanks for your defense. I agree 100%.

This is a response from the Development 'Team' (??!!). I assume I'm the only active member so I think I could take mrmikehicks' statement personal. I don't, I believe as I'm just acting as a forum/source moderator the REAL development team are the community people who actively send in patches i can merge. So people out there, somebody blames you for being not a Mac user.

Now to the point. The Mac support. Here's my answer to the poster: what problems are you talking about :?:

From my memory I can only remember 2 reasonably recent post talking about Mac OSX:
http://zeos.firmos.at/viewtopic.php?t=2491 and http://zeos.firmos.at/viewtopic.php?t=2463
I can't remember other Mac related posts. So certainly no tries for contributons. The same for the bug tracker : no recent bug reports or comments on Mac OSX.

Concerning Lazarus/Fpc : At the moment I'm concentrating on Lazarus/FPC as that's the only afforable platform for somebody who's working on zeoslib as a non-professional user.
Some might have already seen I just ported the test suite. Next step is removing some differences between Delphi and FPC the test suite reveals.
So the Linux and Mac users should be happy. Now the Dev 'Team' uses the same compiler as they do.

Conclusion : mrmikehicks is very welcome to post the descriptions of the bugs he found on the bug tracker. When he posts and wants to discuss his fixes, he might even get them accepted...
