with patch above everything works fine for me (Freebsd amd64, lazarus 0.9.29, fpc 2.5.1, zeos rev 806). As said, all in 64bits !

by the way: my postgresql-server is 8.4.1

to know all is fine, you must run tests, for me also work fine in my app.
