marcov,

I must admit i've no real *nix expiriences and i can only barrely follow you according the issue you wanna point me here.

Marco, we got a lot of user requests for that possibilty. Also we've to start from the premise that not everybody know about how or where to change the library names. My personal reason for that implementation was the user requests. I only try to make Zeos more transparent for such remaining and looping requests. Just like the Egon branch (btw. Where i followed your worries and added some properties, see my thread). Give the peoples a published property and they come better in with Zeos.

Mark pointed me to the X-Dir/Name library issue and i found a quick and valid way to introduce that feature. That was not possible before.

I don't know now what you mean with 'user instructions'. I see ne real reason for that. I think it is still the task of the developer to manage such things. Which way or how is also developer task.

I think that property is helpfull for everybody who realy needs that. On the other hand the old Zeos behavior is still available and nothing has changed.

Do you think it is in our interessts to apply updates always for such requests like that from ism?

And what do you mean with "Maybe give up the one size fits all?"?
