Hi tam,

Instructions didn't change over time.
0) Clean up remains of an old zeoslib installation in this Delphi version and old delphi versions which are in your system path and default delphi search paths. This is a precaution : it just fixes some sporadic problems we saw before like 'entry point not found' errors. I don't usually do it myself.
1) Build all projects in the project group
2) Install the ComponentDesign
3) restart Delphi. (Shouldn't be necessary, but sometimes I hear the components don't show up until restarting)

If this doesn't work, please be more specific about the kind of errors you get. (Exact messages) Between 2 tries always unpack the package files again from the zip file. Sometimes the IDE does update the files when installation has errors.

Hellow, I lowered the last version of the zeos through the SNV. I installed in the Delphi2009, occurred everything potingles. When I go to have access the property " Protocol" it appears the message: " Abstract Error". what it could be?

It looks like you have not compiled all packages.
Have you tried this?

open ZeosDbo.groupproj
project->build all projects

Hi!

I have the problem with Russian Charset.
This simple query works with english characters but doesn't work with Russian (0 records as result).

Olá pessoal!

Eu estou com um problema já algum tempo, com D2009 e Zeos, eu ja tentei de varias formas solucuinar.

Eu tento instalar o Zeos 7 no meu Delphi 2009 e depois da instalação, não aparece os componentes, vou no menu Component -> Install Component ... olho o Zeos aparece lá clico no botão components e não aparece nenhum component. Quando vou compilar o ZComponentDesign antes da instalação, aparece um aviso me informando que tenho que retirar três units do package se não, não consigo compilar, são essas (ZCompoentReg.pas, ZPropertyEditor.pas e ZUpdateSQLEditor.pas), eu acho que é ai que esta o problema.

Citei este problema em um forum e me mandaram um novo Zeos, consegui instalar, só que ficou me aparecendo erro de Abstract Error, quando fui olhar direito não era 7 e sim 6.X, já baixei inumeros Zeos 7 e todos tive o mesmo problema.

Estou precisando muito instalar o Zeos, pois trabalho com postgres, e estou precisando migrar e iniciar novos projetos, e é isto que esta me impedindo.

Case sentir-se inseguro, você pode postar o tópico traduzido e logo abaixo o original em português, mas nunca se esqueça da parte em inglês.

O Zeos no Delphi 2009 está funcionando relativamente bem. Este problema que você está enfrentando deve-se, provavelmente, ao fato de ter mais de uma versão do Zeos instalada no mesmo micro. Talvez você tenha até mais de uma versão do Delphi instalada. Eu sugiro (sempre) que você mantenha somente uma versão do Delphi (se for o seu caso, claro

)

Para resolver o problema (no delphi 2009), remova tudo referente ao Zeos:

- Abra o Delphi, clique em components - install packages e remova qualquer coisa relacionada ao Zeos nesta lista
- Feche o delphi, remova a do Zeos onde ele estava instalado
- com o delphi fechado ainda, remova todos os arquivos Z-AlgumaCoisa que ficam na pasta C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documentos\RAD Studio\6.0\Bpl e C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documentos\RAD Studio\6.0\Dcp (isso se você usa o windows xp em português, no caso do vista o caminho é pareciso, só muda Documents and Settings para Users)
- Baixe o Zeos testing do SVN (tutorial de como fazer isso está aqui: http://zeos.firmos.at/kb.php?mode=article&k=6 )
- Abra o delphi e siga a instalação como está no tutoriual

Fazendo tudo isso deverá funcionar na boa. Caso não funcione, avise!

Quero lhe parabenizar, pela rapidez da resposta e a clareza ... vou testar, realmente tenho dois Delphi, compramos o D2009 a pouco tempo, e ainda não tivemos como passar todos os projetos para Delphi 2009 por isso ainda tenho o Delphi 7 no meu computador.

Eu antes exclui tudo como você me disse, ia nesta pasta, também fui em install package. Mais acho que o meu problema deve ser o Delphi 7, vou desisntalar ele, e posto o resultado.

Officially : no...

On the other hand : if you test the functionality you use very good before entering into a production environment, I don't think you can have that much problems with a small project. I wouldn't advise to do it with client-server project or complex applications. Allowing users to change the sql executed at runtime is also dangerous.
But this also means : test before EVERY zeoslib upgrade you do, because some functionallity may still change.

Don't hesitate to file bug reports when you meet a problem. Just provide everything needed to reproduce the problem in an EASY way.

i am using RapidSVN, and after introduced the URL "svn://zeos.firmos.at/zeos/branches/testing" the program asks about an username/password

Hello!

The SVN server used by Zeos is public. I use TortoiseSVN to access it and get no trouble to do checkouts as anonymous. Have you tried to leave usr/pw blank ?

I installed TortoisesSVN to do the download of Zeos 7 but he requests username and password to import the file.

What should make to get that version alpha???
