, I just using Firebird in my project so I just share with public what I know.I agree with Mark about the new name of the property and why this feature should be can disable or enable, it sound better to not using "Get" prefix in property.
I have no idea to make better the patch that send by sandeep, as long as it consistently working and not mess up the other code then it's OK.
As I know the string datatype in Delphi 7 (or since Delphi 3??) and higher is more than 255 character.
