Dear gto,

We at CAD RETAIL in South Africa choose to use Zeos to allow our Delphi application to connect to MySQL a few years ago.

The application is a Retail management Suite that targets the larger Supermarkets in Sub-Saharan Africa.

We provided the application and clients got their IT house to download and install MySQL version 5.1.

Recently we rolled out the application to the Largest Independent Supermarket Group in Southern Africa and have added the slogan "Unbreakable Point of Sales" to our application.

With just the one client we process 3000 to 5000 sales per day per store over 50 stores, with an average of 50 items per sale!.
This totals up to 12,5 million records a day (375 million records per month).

All this data is trickle fed back to a central server that is a hosted MySQL server on the ISP's backbone. We have a 0 failure rate and the absolute elegance of the platform is amazing.

Our installed client base has exceeded 2000 PCs and we are currently expanding the operation to the neighbouring countries, and in the Middle East.

Our current hurdle is to expand our programming to support the Arabic script which would greatly enhance our attractiveness in the the target regions.

Slice and dice views are available for just about everything and the response time of the database is amazing. No report takes more than a few seconds.

Thank you Zeos team for making much of our success possible.

Warmest Regards

We use Zeos in all our applications. We have a multi-tier accounting system with add-on modules for Produce, Seafood, etc industries. So far we have deployed this app on Postgres, MSSQL2005 and Firebird.
We also have a web app built using Intraweb and Zeos.
This solution is sold in New Zealand and Australia.

We have another product for restaurants. This also uses Zeos and Postgres. This can manage day to day operation of a restaurant. There is also a PDA module which uses Zeos on the server side to talk to the database. This product is currently sold in New Zealand only.

We have another product DBMaster http://www.10thdoor.com that uses Zeos. This product was developed for internal use. We just wanted to use one tool and one way of working with multiple databases. The version on the web only works with Firebird/Interbase and SQLite, but the internal version that we use can work with all the databases supported by Zeos. The internal version does not support all the features of the database engines and that's why we haven't released it to for testing.

Regards

Sandeep
