[patch_rejected] Patch ZEOS 6.6 to work on D4 / Turbo Delphi

i managed to get the dclusr.bdsproj file to compile, but when i try to install i'm getting the message:

This version is not licensed to install third-party components or IDE add-ins.

i have turbo delphi explorer update 2.

am i doing something wrong? does this patch work with update 2?

Hi (yes, I'm still alive )!

Even if (or maybe because) I'm in Turkey on holiday I tried to google a little and found this:

hi Michael,

i've looked at the page and i'm still unable to load the components. not sure what i'm doing wrong. i've followed the zeos instructions, and the instructions at the link you provided seem to be the same, although i went through the steps again with no luck.

enjoy you're holiday, and when you're back perhaps you could take a closer look.

is there anyone who has explorer update 2 and is able to install the components?

i can't install on delphi 7, i get this error too

[Pascal Fatal Error] Zcore.dpk(44): File not found: 'ZVariant.dcu'

i was able to fix that error by going back and installing the zeos package first, and then installing the patch. follow the installation instructions and it should work.

have you had a chance to look at this problem yet?

Even if this patch works fine, it will not be included in a future Zeoslib release (> 6.6).
We plan to drop support for Delphi versions < 7 and FPC < 2.0. So it doesn't make sense to talk about D4 any longer. For those using willing to use zeoslib 6.6 with D4 : just use this patch.

If somebody uses Zeoslib with TurboDelphi : do we need to change something to our packages or add some new package for you? Please let us know in a new thread.

Hey there

I just tried to install ZEOS on my Turbo Delphi using the patch.

When I click complile, I get the message:
[Pascal Fehler] ZPlainMysqlFunc.inc(95): E2003 Undefinierter Bezeichner: 'PMYSQL_RES'

and

[Pascal Fataler Fehler] dclusr.dpk(171): F2063 Verwendete Unit '..\imports\zeos\src\plain\ZPlainMySql320.pas' could not be compiled

Which should mean something like "unknown definition" or something like this in englisch.

Does anybody know how to fix this?
