DataSet from stored procedure

Delphi 7, MS SQL 2000
Procedure returns DataSet. SQL is created dynamically. Search on fields varchar. If "Equally" all is good if "Like" - that DataSet empty.
From QA is dood.
In what a mistake?

did you put a %-char behind the like-statement in the procedure

f.e. <field> like @v_value + '%'
