I would try the last Zeos-trunc r3467, with Win7 64bit, Lazarus 1.3 r46752M FPC 2.7.1 r28983 32bit. I got a compiler-error: ZDbcAdo.pas(61,60) Fatal: Kann Unit ZPlainAdoDriver nicht finden verwendet von ZDbcAdo von Package zdbc. (I tryed to compile this unit - without a postive result)

I tryed some other trunc-versions of Zeos, the error comes with r3467. All tested revisions are compilable without errors, also r3466.

i've been trying to support CodeTyphoon as good as possible. PL did allow us to use the Windows-OleDb.pas unit of CodeTyphoon. ADO is now available for FPC+Windows too.
All my ADO tests are passing with FPC too except Tests where double/floating-point values are used. TDateTime is out of that rule.
I do not get an exception on trying to access the OleVariants with such values, i can't read the types and values it's selves, simply nothing happens, just the results are always 0.0! Weird.
In addition FPC misses the VUInt64 field and VarType. So such values are NOT accessable too.

I would be happy if someone could raise a bugreport on FPC-bugtracker. I do not have the time for it...

Also did we make deep tests with MariaDB-10 and FireBird 3.0-Beta. Hope you read Michals tests carefully?! You safely can use these new servers too. Note FB3.0 provides some more features but not all of them are handled by Zeos actually except the true BOOLEAN field.

Additional notes: since we are in Beta i can't ad more features. For me latest changes are handled as bug-fixes (e.g. CodeTyphoon got a loads of reports for ADO which are handled now)

Hi,

I tried to configure ADO protocol for my MS SQL Server Database connection. But ADO protocol ist not in the list to select from.
I use zeos-7.2.0-beta-r3472 and lazarus 1.2.6 on win7/32
Are there any additional steps to prepare this protocol type?

sure you made a !fresh! compile of zeos? No old files(Z*pas,Z*.ppu etc) available? IT should work (on Windows only of course)
