Hint i did pimp the MSSQL TGUID stuff a bit. We store 16Byte Binary in cache. And if conversions are required for front-end gui with TDataSet:

10 Million conversions Binary to String
Zeos: in 0,5secs in average.
Delphi IDE's: 5,6secs in average
FPC: took to long 13secs or so.

Can You pleas add in your test platform Lazarus/Fpc 2.6.4 and (or) 2.6.5 ?
The Fpc 2.6.4 is at the moment an official compiler version for Lazarus, ad I'm found some errors last couple of days witch is not present with Fpc 2.7.1 compiler version.
