On which database are you using Zeos?

Post by Stevie »

Dear users,

the Zeos-Team is very interested to know on which databases you work with zeos. Please let us know. If you use multiple databases, please choose your favorite.

I use Interbase 6, Firebird and MySQL 4.1.

I want to use MySQL 5 but I think ZeosLib do not support. It's right?

I really need Zeos support for IBM DB2 RDBMS. I've search the net, but found none efforts have been done. :(

I'll also be glad if Zeos could support these RDBMSs:

- mySQL (all versions)
- Firebird/Interbase (remember, these two DBes will more and more different by the newer version)
- PostgreSQL
- MS SQL
- Oracle
- IBM DB2

We must admit, the first three DBs are the most popular on FLOSS community, but the last three are the most popular on propetiary world. :) It'd be much better if Zeos can support both side of the bussiness ways. :)

I think Zeos should be a commercial package, so the team should be more motivated to proceed with work... I'm prepared to pay to get MySQL 5.x into Zeos.

I use PostgreSQL through Delphi, but I would like to switch to PostgreSQL / Lazarus.

Yup... me too! I've see more and more Delphi programmers switching to Lazarus, as I did since the last 6 months. Though there's dbExpress in Delphi and sqlDB on Lazarus for multi-db connection component, these people are expecting Zeos as the main database connection component because Zeos is interoperable between Delphi and Lazarus.
