Arwen, I have the same problem with XP. Almost everything works great, but when trying to create an event on a ZQuery, I've got this:

C:\ZEOSDBO-6.6.1-beta\src\component\ZDataSet.pas(54,6) Error: identifier not found: TDataSetNotifyEvent

The solution I adopted was to install the Zeos 6.5.1 alpha 2004 version (the latest of that year, I guess). Apparently that's the one which works with D5.

It's just to tell you that I've got a working connection using the following:
-Delphi 5
-MySql 5
-Zeoslib 6.5.1 alpha (2004 edition)
Although not yet in production, I think it will be working stable.
