<off-topic>

Maybe this is the wrong time to go into my plans for usurping power over my county, proclaiming "The Republic of Free Sweden" as an independent state and joining NATO. ;)

I checked the court decision (in English.. :) ) and it seemed that board operators could be held responsible for messages on the forum. Didn't this apply to this specific case? Or how has that problem been solved?

Isn't that the SQL Server client library? I think it should be included in any client installation kit for SQL Server on CD's or in downloads.

Well, we use Zeoslib in Delphi 5.0 and I can guarantee that invalid SQL statements or other database-related errors indeed raises exceptions correctly. I think there must be some other error in your program. Do have any empty "try / except end;" somewhere? Or do you trap Application.OnExce...

But I don't quite understand. Are your DLL's using separate threads? If they're not, then it should work fine? Especially since all the DLL's are using the same memory space.

The problem goes down to the libmysql API. A single connection is instantiated using memory buffers inside libmysql, and each query uses this connection buffer or handle to process queries back and forth. There is no problem whatsoever with allowing hundreds of queries to use the same connection, as...

We did the update about six months ago. While that was a fairly big job involving updating hundreds and hundreds of units to the new Zeos API, it was actually pretty straightforward. Mostly, it's about changing the unit names, i.e. including "ZConnection" instead of "ZMySqlDb"; a...

Isn't there a setting for that? Setting properties to "secure=yes" or "trusted=yes" should do it, I think.

I've looked around for a similar function that's not dependent on the particular database. The one we've been using so far is EscapeCString in ZSysUtils, but we only use it for MySQL anyhow. SQL Server is decidedly trickier, and quite frankly, I'm not sure how to do it. Is the solution to only use p...

Michael, It's not that difficult to make transparent versions. Let me take a look at it and see what I can do, I kind of just wanted to get your reactions before I spent too much time on it :) If you're looking for graphics editors, then I would recommend Paint Shop Pro, which I'm using myself. Good...

Well, I decided to take a look at it and see if something could be merged together. So we'll see if this'll do it ;) I didn't make an alpha channel version this time, but I took the liberty of extracting the logo gto provided and rendering that with a transparent alpha channel, in different sizes. A...

I understood it that MySQL had, just for their client library (libmysql.dll), allowed certain types of licenses found "compliant" with their intent, to use the library without adhering to GPL standards = their FOSS Exception clause. LGPL, BSD and even the MIT license are apparently allowed...
